New mosaic for Swaffham Sacred Heart School in March 2014




A new mosaic took pride of place at Swaffham’s Sacred Heart School in March 2014 as part of its centenary celebrations.

Pupils and staff joined forces under the guidance of mosaic artist Carolyn Ash to produce the artwork which depicted Jesus.

Putting the finishing touches to the mosaic in this picture are, from left, Madeleine McPartlin, Charlotte Napper, Edward Phillips, Elizabeth Wainer, artist Carolyn Ash, Grace Cushing, Meg Heale, Lucy Brain, head teacher Sister Francis Ridler, Harry McKnight, Isaac Riedlinger, Jacob Hitchcock and Jessica Gott.

The mosaic cost around £1,500 to produce and was sponsored by Emilie van Cutsem, in memory of her husband Hugh who had died the previous September.
