Smithdon High School pupils are pictured in September 2010 before their prize-giving ceremony.

Staff, parents, governors, students, ex-students and an array of guests had gathered to celebrate another year of progress and improvement at the Hunstanton school.

The evening was to recognise and celebrate high levels of academic attainment – with awards going to more than 60 students – while also allowing those present to be reminded of the vast number of other initiatives, events and activities which the pupils enjoyed.

In his address, headteacher Jon Goodchild said the wide variety of extra-curricular events available at the school showed how dedicated the staff were.
