A47 at Wendling between Swaffham and Dereham shut after car leaves road




Police have closed part of the A47 between two Norfolk towns after a crash.

Emergency services have been called to the single-vehicle collision on the major road at Wendling, between Swaffham and Dereham, this afternoon.

A Norfolk Police spokeswoman said that a car had left the road and no other vehicles were involved.

She said the A47 was shut while the vehicle was recovered, and that the ambulance service had also been alerted to the incident.

National Highways East said, in a post on X a short time ago: “The A47 remains closed westbound between the A1075 Dereham and the A1065 Swaffham due to a police-led incident.

“Norfolk Police are working on scene.”

The East of England Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.
