All the fun of the school fair in Upwell
Scores of visitors enjoyed live music in the summer sunshine during the Upwell Academy’s summer fair at the weekend.
The event saw some 300 visitors pack into Upwell Academy’s playing field on Sunday to raise money for the village’s primary school.
Guests could take part in a range of activities including horse back rides, traditional fete rides as well as browse stalls. They could also listen to live music while enjoying refreshments.
A spokeswoman said: “The fair went really well, it was really well attended. There was around 250 to 300 people there, however that is an approximation.
“We were raising money for the village’s Friends of the School Association, which funds playing equipment, such as trim trails, year 6 leavers’ hoodies and nursery pupil’s first book bags.
“We also funded the reading and writing shed for outside learning as well as disco nights and cinema nights.
“The Friends of the School Association helps out with things we think will complement the school, which the school my not have the funding for.
“We are always looking for new members and volunteers to help out.”
