Emergency crews working along West Norfolk's coastline have spoken out following a suspected hoax call early today.
Coastguard and Lifeboat units were scrambled at around 12.40am today, after a call claimed that a person was "shouting for help" in the water at Old Hunstanton.
But officials say nothing was found, despite a land and sea search of the area.
The caller is also thought to have left the area without making any further contact.
A post on the Hunstanton Coastguard's Facebook page said the incident was classed as a hoax call before the units returned to their stations.
It added: "Please do not phone Hoax calls in, Hoax calls put lives at risk !!!"
