A Swaffham-based company has marked 50 years of trading in the town by moving its business online for the first time.

Sequin Art produces more than a million items a year from its base on Castle Acre Road and exports to more than 20 countries worldwide, including the United States, Russia and several in the European Union.

Now the company, which moved to Swaffham six years after it was formed in 1962, has launched a new website as part of a major internal expansion plan.

Neil Clark, the company’s newly appointed general manager, said: “I feel privileged to be in the position to lead the Sequin Art team through this important transitional period for the business.

“The team here today has a great opportunity to build upon the strong foundation developed over the last 56 years.

“Today’s consumers want the option of shopping online, which is why we have decided to embark on this journey and in doing so we aim to create an exceptional online experience for all our customers.

“We have a fantastic product which we believe passionately in and that’s why we are confident that our expansion into online sales will only serve to add strength to our brand which in turn will support ongoing sales.”
