Bomb squads sent to Holme-next-the-sea to remove suspected ordnance on beach

A suspected bomb has been removed from a West Norfolk beach.

Members of the Hunstanton Coastguard Rescue Team rushed to Holme beach yesterday morning at 11.14am following reports of a possible ordnance.

The crew stayed to monitor the scene and took photos of the device to send to the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) squad who later took it away.

“EOD were happy after examining items that the items could be removed safely from the beach,” the Coastguard team said in a post on Facebook.

“Thank you to HM Coastguard Sutton Bridge for your assistance.”
