The Armed Forces Day flag was raised in Lynn’s Tower Gardens on Monday.
Borough deputy mayor Geoff Hipperson was joined by Norfolk’s High Sheriff, Charles Watt, council leaders, representatives of all three armed services and veterans’ groups for the event, which is intended to pay tribute to both current and former servicemen and women.
Mr Hipperson said: “Our service personnel undertake their duties with pride and courage. I would like to thank them all for their service - for what they have done in the past, for what they are doing at present, and for what they are prepared to do in the future.”
