Goodwins Hall Care Home in King’s Lynn donates £800 to Cancer Research UK and Bridge for Heroes

A care home has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to charitable giving.

Goodwins Hall Care Home has donated an impressive £800 in the past couple of weeks to both local and national charities. With a long history of fundraising, there is always something happening at the care home to support worthy causes.

One of the recent donations was a £400 contribution to Cancer Research UK, made possible by resident Christine who walked around the home’s garden every day for a month, rain or shine.

To celebrate her achievement, Goodwins Hall hosted a special high tea, prepared by the talented kitchen team.

The celebration was made even more special by stunning floral decorations provided by Nici’s Creations.

Another £400 was raised for Bridge for Heroes through a highly successful Goodwins Gatsby-themed murder mystery evening.

The event was attended by the West Norfolk Mayor Paul Bland and his wife, adding an extra touch of prestige to the occasion.

Funds raised were presented to Greg from Bridge for Heroes at the care home’s Veterans Brunch, a regular monthly event that brings together residents, families, and community members in support of veterans’ welfare.

A spokesperson at the care home said: “A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who contributed to this fundraising success. Your support truly makes a difference.”

Goodwins Hall has always been passionate about supporting charities, regularly collecting for the Lynn Food Bank and organising numerous fundraising events throughout the year.

Home manager Flavia shared her pride in the home’s commitment to charitable efforts: “For many of our residents, supporting charities and helping those less fortunate than themselves has always been a way of life, and it is important to the Goodwins family to carry on supporting local and national charities whenever we can.

“Most of our open events and family functions have a fundraising element, and we are always delighted with the support we receive from the community, our families, and friends in the care sector for our endeavours.

“To have donated just a few pence short of £800 in the past week is a real achievement.”
