Central car park repairs on schedule, says district council

Work to repair and improve a central Swaffham car park throughout April is "currently on schedule" according to Breckland Council.

Theatre Street car park has been the site of re-surfacing and water drainage repairs since Tuesday, March 26.

Breckland Council posted on social media today (Wednesday, April 3) to say the existing asphalt surface of the car park has now been removed with a new surface beginning to be laid out today and tomorrow.

This will enable Phase One of the works to resume next Thursday, depending on the weather.

Three phases have been set out to allow limited use of the car park throughout the contract period.

Phase One will be taking place at the rear of the car park for approximately two weeks, followed by Phases Two and Three on the front left and right of the car park respectively.

Breckland Council said they intend to complete all phases within six weeks from March 26.

The district council also said they apologise for any inconvenience caused and recognise the works may cause some disruption.

All other Breckland car parks in Swaffham remain open as usual.
