Child and woman taken to Peterborough for treatment following A47 crash: update
A child and a woman were transported to Peterborough for treatment following a road accident on the A47 near Wisbech this afternoon.
Emergency services were called shortly before 1pm to a multiple-vehicle collision near the Elm Hall roundabout.
A Trust spokesperson for the ambulance service said: "We treated a child and a woman at the scene and transported them to Peterborough General Hospital for further treatment.
“We sent two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle to the scene of a road traffic accident involving several vehicles near the Elm roundabout in Wisbech."
The A47 was reopened around 3.30pm after being closed in both directions. It was closed from the Elm Hall roundabout up to the Worzels roundabout.
Cambridgeshire Police and Norfolk Police both attended with the former setting up diversion routes.
At the peak of the disruption there were delays for up to 30 minutes.
