Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan announce return to Snettisham's Wild Ken Hill this Autumn

As BBC's Springwatch came to a close at Wild Ken Hill in Snettisham, it was announced at the end of the programme, by Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan, that the show will return in the autumn.

The restorative power of nature was the theme of this season's programme and the presenters encouraged people to explore nature and connect with the outside world.

They also encouraged farmers to emulate the rewilding and re-generative farming methods that Wild Ken Hill use.

Their video message to the children in Woodpecker class at Sporle primary school encouraged the children to 'get wild' and ask their teachers to dig a pond and Chris Packham also gave his advice to West Norfolk residents concerning the pollution of a local waterway.

Highlights of Springwatch, filmed live daily from the rewilding reserve howed both comedy and tragedy which included a chilled out night jar, barn owls filmed in their nest, a hedgehog attacking a young skylark and all types of species coming together in a unique environment such as foxes, badgers and deer.

With both presenters at the beginning of the filming saying they were expecting the unexpected, the show certainly lived up to those expectations including a surprise guest in the form of Gemma Collins.
