Swaffham to get swarm of ducks - including five-foot statue - as part of community project

Mystery surrounds where a five-foot duck model will be placed in Swaffham town centre.

The large bird is part of a community art project in the town which came about due to funding success as part of Love Your Market 2025.

The project is titled “Swaffham Goes Quackers” - and involves one giant duck to be painted by the community, or an artist, along with several other small ducks to be placed in businesses in the town.

It will create a trail of ducks for people to follow.

However, Swaffham Museum manager Sue Gattuso has urged councillors to ensure the giant duck is not installed on the market place.

Swaffham town clerk Helen Carrier reassured Ms Gattuso that the giant duck will not be placed in the market place due to it being a piece of the town’s heritage.
