Could Banksy have created these artworks in Stowbridge? Two murals spark debate
Two pieces of graffiti spotted in a village have sparked a debate as to whether they could be the work of a famous artist.
Members of the public have taken to social media to discuss the street art located near a river bank at Stowbridge, close to the Heron pub.
The paintings of a fisherman and a shark fin are thought to have appeared some time in the last couple of weeks, with some questioning if they might be the work of the mysterious street artist Banksy.
Dog walker Sue Dunnimme told the Lynn News of her excitement after spotting the fisherman piece on her usual route.
Sue said: "I walk my dog most mornings and evenings along the river in Stowbridge, enjoying the peace and quiet as well as the beautiful views of the river and wildlife.
"But yesterday evening I spotted something different, a new Banksy piece (hopefully) on the bridge near to the Heron pub."
She added: "The little fisherman definitely looks like his style. I would love it to be true as our very own piece of Banksy in our little village would be wonderful."
Luke Jeary, a builder from Downham, also spotted the artworks and said: "It probably is a copycat because of the location but it would be nice if it was his."
Do you think this could be Banksy's art? Or might it be the work of a local resident, or perhaps you are the artist behind the work?
