Swaffham Town Council thinking ahead to Christmas as it hopes to bring food and craft market to town

Christmas may seem like a long way away but Swaffham Town Council is already making plans for the festive season.

At the town council’s full meeting last Wednesday, Deputy Mayor Lindsey Beech discussed plans for Christmas in the town.

They include bringing a local artisan market, with food and crafts, to the town as part of a full-day event with other activities.

“We want to make it a traditional event that happens each year,” said Cllr Beech.

For those who want to get dates in their diaries early, Swaffham’s Christmas light switch-on will take place on November 30.

Cllr Beech added: “We want to bring a diverse range of offerings to appeal to visitors.”

The council will also be spending more on its Christmas lights this year to bring more festive joy to the town.

A real Christmas tree is set to be put up in the town as well.
