Decision due on Hardings Way road rules

A decision on a controversial traffic order proposal for Lynn should be deferred today because papers relating to it were not published early enough, a councillor has claimed.

Members of Norfolk County Council’s environment, development and transport committee are due to decide whether to amend rules relating to Hardings Way at a meeting today.

But division representative Alexandra Kemp has claimed the plan should be withdrawn, because agenda papers relating to it were not published with the required notice for the public to see them.

She says the authority could face a legal challenge if the order is given the go-ahead.

But officials reported: “The Order has been processed in line with the relevant legislation and there are no specific legal implications associated to the proposal.”
