Delays for rush-hour commuters after crash in Downham Market




A two-vehicle crash in the centre of Downham Market is causing delays for drivers this morning (Friday).

The crash happened in Porter Street, near Downham Market Rail Station, at about 6.45am.

Emergency services have now cleared the crash site, where no serious injuries have been reported, and traffic is moving again along the B1512 Railway Road, Downham Market.

In Lynn, Hamlin Way is closed both ways closed due to gas leak from Piper Road to Enterprise Way where traffic is reported as coping well.

Elsewhere, the A148 London Road, King's Lynn, is closed due to gas mains works between Valingers Road and Windsor Road.

There is a temporary traffic light failure on the Edward Benefer Way in Lynn and traffic is heavy on Queen Elizabeth Way, eastbound from the A47/ A10 Hardwick Roundabout junction to Gayton Road, near the Queen Elizabeth Roundabout.

Drivers should allow extra time for their journeys here and in the areas of Tennyson Avenue and Vancouver Avenue, between Gaywood Road and Hardwick Road (Southgate Roundabout), where traffic is slow.

In Heacham, delays are possible between Hunstanton Road and Manor Road where temporary traffic lights are in place due to gas mains work.

Meanwhile, Lords Lane in Heacham is closed due to drainage works from School Road to Malthouse Crescent.

Temporary traffic lights are also in place on Downham Road, near Mill Lane, in Crimplesham, Downham Road, at the A134 Lynn Road junction, Stradsett.

Heavy traffic is reported on the A17 eastbound in West Lynn, close to the A47 Pullover Roundabout, as well as in South Wootton on Grimston Road going west towards Wootton Road and Low Road.

Finally, rail commuters should be aware that the 8.26am Downham Market to London King's Cross service is delayed by 11 minutes.
