Dozens enjoy Swaffham club's festive feast
A long-running festive tradition continued at the weekend when a Swaffham community group held its annual Christmas lunch for elderly residents.
A total of 70 guests enjoyed the seasonal meal, which was organised by members of the town's Lions club and served at the Sacred Heart School, on Sunday afternoon.
The club has hosted the event annually for the past 34 years.
Most of the food for this year's lunch being purchased with a donation from the town's Tesco store.
A club spokesman said a member of the school's teaching staff led preparation of the meal, with many club members themselves helping with peeling and chopping vegetables.
Guests were welcomed on arrival with a glass of sherry by Lions club president John Collins.
Town mayor, Colin Houghton, paid tribute to the club's work, having himself helped members of the Swaffham Lionesses with serving the meal.
Following the lunch, guests were entertained with a session of bingo provided by town and district councillor Paul Darby and Christmas carols led by Sue Rogers.
