Driver arrested after accident near Queen Elizabeth Hospital




A motorist has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after an accident caused traffic to be held up on a busy Lynn road this afternoon.

Police were called to Gayton Road near to the Fairstead turning at 3.30pm following reports of a three-vehicle collision.

A spokeswoman for Norfolk Police said: "A driver of one of the vehicles has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and will taken into custody at King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning."

Traffic came to a standstill travelling in the direction of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital from Gaywood before the road was cleared at 4.50pm.

There have been no serious injuries as a result of the accident.
