Exciting new prospect for the old Burton's building in King's Lynn as Coney's provides labels such as Michael Kors and Tommy Hilfiger for men

A new men's store will be coming to Lynn within the next few weeks as Coneys Designer Wear outlines plans for the old Burton building.

The building, which has been empty since last year, was salt in the wound of Lynn's dwindling High Street after 2,450 staff nationwide were told that their jobs had been axed after clothes website Boohoo bought Dorothy Perkins, Wallis and Burton for £25.2 million.

Coneys plans to bring some suave to the high street with brands such as Cavani, Michael Kors and Tommy Hilfiger with a mix of formal and causal wear for men.

The company, which has five other stores in Lincolnshire including a department store and a wedding outfitters, hopes to hold an opening in Lynn later this month.

Operations director Nick Snookes said: "We are very excited about coming to Lynn, we think the high street is great and the town is lovely. It will also create job opportunities for those in the town for what will be our sixth store."
