Pet dog rescued by fire crews from family home in Swaffham during ‘serious’ kitchen fire




Firefighters rescued a pet dog as they tackled a blaze which tore through the kitchen of a family home.

Three fire crews attended the serious house fire in Swaffham last Thursday at 9am. Crews from the town as well as Lynn and Dereham attended.

While firefighters were tackling the blaze at the Sporle Road property, they found Finley, the family dog, sheltering behind a sofa.

Finley was rescued and brought out of the property safely and fire crews left the scene at 10.12am.

Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service have shared photos of the damage caused by the fire and said that the family wanted to share their experience to encourage others to have their smoke alarms tested regularly.
