Family, friends and fellow shooters came together to celebrate South Holland’s Olympian star from Sutton Bridge
Family and friends came together to celebrate the Olympian star shooter Aaron Heading.
Sutton Bridge’s own Aaron Heading is currently in Tokyo for the 2020 Olympic Games, and will kick-start his clay-pigeon shooting campaign tomorrow (Wednesday).
Aaron’s wife Natasha (32) threw a party to show her support.“It was fabulous, it was really good,” she said,“It was a really good celebration.”
Friends and family members gathered at The Priory Clay Target Centre in Sutton Bridge, where there were a variety of activities on offer.
“I had a bouncy castle for the children, we had the live opening ceremony playing on the projector screen,” Natasha said.
“There were banners, balloons, a barbecue, and an ice cream van. It was a nice get-together. It was a good day of celebrating Aaron being out in Tokyo.”
While she has sent a few photos of the day to her husband, Natasha says he has been staying away from social media to maintain his focus.
She said: “He’s come off it to try and get his head in the right place.
“It must have been surreal to see us, because he’s a real party-goer anyway. He would have loved to have been there.
“It makes him feel the love a little bit more. It does inspire him that he’s got so many supporters at home.”
Despite the wonderful day, Natasha confesses that she and Aaron are at opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to excitement.
“I’m a nervous wreck, I’m not looking forward to watching it at all!” she joked.
“I wish it was over and done with already, it’s been such a long wait. I’m really excited to see how he performs, but I’ll also be watching from behind my hands.
“He just wants to get cracking on now, he’s ready for it.
“He’s done enough training, he’s itching and raring to go!”
