Discount Tyres on High Road in Saddlebow near King’s Lynn reopens following ‘heartbreaking’ fire
A tyre business has reopened following a “heartbreaking” fire which forced it to close.
Firefighters rushed to Discount Tyres in Saddlebow - known locally as Trotty’s - after a huge blaze broke out in the early hours of the morning on Friday, November 1.
Despite hours of effort from crews, much of the business was destroyed but on Monday night the owners announced on Facebook that they would reopen on Tuesday on a cash-only basis at first - with a new temporary premises at the back of the site.
“Please bear with us, and do not at any point attempt to enter the previous building,” the post added.
“Thank you so much for everyone’s kind words, well wishes and support during a heartbreaking time. You have not gone unnoticed.”
The business is still without a phone line so is encouraging those who need to get in contact to do so through Facebook Messenger.
At the time of the fire, the family business which was set up in 1989, said that everybody was left “absolutely distraught” and “very raw”.
Due to the severity of the fire, the cause was unable to be determined.
