The Bus Bistro holds open day for public to jump on board and take look around
A luxury bus experience, which has been running for more than a year, held an open day for the community to step aboard one of its coaches.
The Bus Bistro, which has expanded after kickstarting its first excursion on November 12 in 2023, welcomed the public to its Terrington St John base on Saturday to see in person what the business has to offer and to take a look at the luxury coaches.
The business offers a unique dining experience to those wanting to travel across the country in luxury, taking passengers on various excursions.
Upcoming trips include Fakenham Races, Torvill and Dean: Our Last Dance, Royal Ascot Ladies Day, as well as musicals in London such as Lion King, Moulin Rouge and much more.
In January, it had a staff change around and was modernised to incorporate its growing demand.
Owner Josh Green has now introduced a second bus so the business can get more trips out due to the increase in popularity.
Stacey Martin, operations manager, said: “We are really trying to grow a small business offering something different.
“Coach trips have been around forever. The difference we have got is we have a full galley kitchen on both coaches.”
Everything is cooked on the move, but is prepared at The Barn.
On the longer trips, breakfast is offered on the way out, either a full English or continental, and on the return journey, a three-course meal is served.
The Bus Bistro also has a fully licensed bar with a range of alcoholic and soft drinks and fresh coffee.
Mr Green, who also owns The Barn Restaurant in Terrington St John and a soon-to-open eatery in Clenchwarton called The Pub, is hoping in the next few months to branch into holiday trips.
Ms Martin said: “We are getting a lot of feedback from customers who say they want trips away.”
There are three pick-up points for those who are travelling on board – Somers Road in Wisbech, Hardwick Tesco in Lynn, and another in Downham – all with free parking.
Those who live near The Barn can also get picked up from there.
The business also offers luxury airport transfers for one to 16 passengers.
