A fisherman with a severe injury was rushed to hospital after being saved by a lifeboat crew in their first call-out of the year.

Volunteers from Hunstanton RNLI were called to the middle of The Wash just before 1pm after a man suffered a severe cut to his hand onboard a boat on Thursday, February 1.

Teams took 20 minutes to reach the scene, where the man’s condition was assessed before taking him ashore to the lifeboat station.
