Update: Accident on the A47 near King's Lynn




Five people have been transported to hospital following an accident on the outskirts of Lynn this morning.

The A47 at Saddlebow was blocked west bound after five cars and a lorry were involved in a collision.

A rapid response vehicle and two ambulances attended just before 7.30am

A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said: "Five patients were transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn for further assessment and treatment."

And a spokeswoman for the police added: "Police were called at 7.10am to the Saddlebow Roundabout, on the A47 in King’s Lynn, to reports of an RTC involving five cars and a lorry. This happened on the slip road joining the A47."

The road was fully blocked but re-opened at 8.56am.

A social media post by police asked motorists to avoid the area.
