North Runcton flower festival is all things bright and beautiful
A flower festival took place in North Runcton with the theme reflecting all things bright and beautiful.
The event was the 25th flower festival held at All Saints Church over three days across the weekend.
Funds were raised to go towards the church and the amount raised was some £2,000.
Organiser Lynda Fuller said: "It went very well and we had lots and lots of visitors and nice comments.
"We do it every year, apart from during the pandemic, and it was nice to start again.
"We had stalls selling bric-a-brac, cakes and a raffle.
"Over at the village meeting place were refreshments, home-made cake and lunches, I do an awful lot of baking.
"We opened on the Friday night with a supper and concert and had very good weather.
"We were up against the Wimbledon final on Sunday but we were pleased with how many came.
"Usually we have it in June but due to the Queen's Platinum Jubilee we moved it to July away from all the other events.
"The theme was all things bright and beautiful and the little children from Buttercups Pre-School made birds and colourful characters to reflect the words of the hymn."
"We will start thinking about next year.
"The amount raised was very good considering what's going on in the world and people haven't got a lot of money to spend on things so we are very grateful for their support."
