Harpley flower festival is bright and beautiful
A flower festival took place at St Lawrence Church, Harpley with the theme all things bright and beautiful.
Floral displays were created by members of the church and funds raised from selling refreshments will go towards mending the roof.
Church warden Lucy Brown said: "We haven't done a flower festival for a long time so it's a bit of a first.
"We made money from selling top quality quiches and salads and the funds are much needed, raising some £1,300 to replace the lead that was nicked from the roof.
"Local people helped and flower arrangers from the church rota did the arrangements.
"It was a constant stream of footfall and Gina Wagg, treasurer and David Mallows were behind the efforts.
"We use natural moss instead of oasis and local garden and wild flowers.
"We are looking forward to Christmas and thinking about a tree fesival."
