Swaffham Golf Club reaches its 100th year

This week, 100 golfers took part in the first series of events marking a Swaffham Golf Club’s centenary year.

The golfers teed off bright and early, enjoying a brunch and a celebratory bucks fizz on a lovely spring day.

Entertainment was provided after lunch, by comedian Ian Richards, as members, staff and club officials celebrated throughout the day.

A clock was specially commissioned as the member’s gift to the club, produced and designed by Darren Clubb, at DRC bespoke.

The Mayor of Swaffham, Judy Anscombe, and the chair of Breckland Council, Roy Brame, unveiled the gift.

Travis Perkins, 741 Awards and Energise Pentney are all local businesses who supported the event as the club celebrates its 100th year.

This was not the only event the club are hosting after reaching its celebratory 100th year.

Over the next coming months more events are being held, including the first week of May, where there will be an exhibition celebrating the club's founders.

On Sunday, July 10, there is a family fun day aimed at non-golfers and youngsters, with later in the year on Sunday, August 14, a day for established golfers to play the course.
