Hunstanton bus station construction agreement approved
West Norfolk councillors have approved a contract to enable the redevelopment of Hunstanton’s current bus station to proceed.
The agreement with Lovell Partnerships Ltd was backed during the authority’s meeting on Thursday, following a recommendation from the council’s cabinet.
It had earlier approved the proposal during a closed session last month.
The move enables work to get underway on the scheme to provide dozens of new homes, a new town library, a shop and public toilet block on the site.
Council leader Brian Long told the meeting: “This is a hugely important piece of regeneration for Hunstanton.
“It will be an absolute improvement to the area which will provide much needed homes.”
The project was granted planning permission by the council’s planning committee last December.
