Hunstanton bus station work set to begin, council paper says

Demolition work at Hunstanton’s current bus station is set to begin later this month, according to a council document.

Plans for a new library, dozens of flats, public toilets and a retail unit at the site were approved by West Norfolk Council last December.

The authority has since agreed a contract with development partner Lovell for the project.

Now, papers released ahead of a scheduled council meeting this Thursday say the next phase of the scheme is set to get underway soon.

Development portfolio holder Richard Blunt said demolitions were due to begin in September 2021.

He added: “Bus stops will be relocated onto St Edmunds Terrace.”

Library services have already been moved to a temporary home in Valentine Road while the project is completed.
