Hunstanton lifeboat called to rescue person on inflatable dinghy




A person was rescued by the Hunstanton RNLI after drifting 500 yards out to sea on an inflatable dinghy last night.

The RNLI launched a lifeboat around 6pm to attend to the person who had drifted from Old Hunstanton beach.

After being located by the crew, the person was landed back at Hunstanton lifeboat station.

A spokeman for the RNLI said sea safety advice was given to the person back at the station, including why it is not safe to use inflatables at sea.

He also advised holiday makers to always check the weather and tide times, as well as carrying a means of calling for help.

If anyone is seen in danger, you should dial 999, 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
