Popular radio show drops in as classic car show returns to Swaffham
Organisers of Swaffham's Classic Car Day have hailed the returning event as their best yet.
Like so many other public events, the show was a casualty of Covid in 2020, with final cancellation coming shortly before the event's usual August bank holiday weekend date.
But crowds flocked to the town's Recreation Ground on Sunday to see a display of almost 150 cars, plus a whole host of other attractions.
Motorcycle and scooter groups were also among the visitors during the day.
And the Haspalls Road site was also the setting for a clue in the popular BBC Radio Norfolk Treasure Quest programme.
Elsewhere, stalls around the ground included crafts, upcycling and foods, while both the police and the Institute for Advanced Motorists also had stands.
The event is arranged by a committee led by representatives of the Swaffham Town Council.
A council spokesman said: "The show was very, very well received. We know from the emails back from the stalls they were all very, very pleased.
"They can't wait for next year and they all had good days.
"This is our fourth year and we think it's the best show so far.
The committee also thanked the event's principal sponsors, Bevan Davidson International and LG Motors.
