King's Lynn magistrates send attempted rape case to crown court




A 72-year-old man has appeared before magistrates in Lynn accused of attempted rape.

Bernard Taylor is accused of carrying out the offence on a female 16 years or over in Peterborough between March 27, 1987 and December 31, 1996.

Taylor is also charged with 12 counts of indecent assault on the same person when she was between seven and 15.

The defendant, of Lisnamon Court, Londonderry, Northern Ireland, appeared before the court via video link.

The most serious charge of attempted rape was sent to Norwich Crown Court and the other matters will be heard with it.

Taylor was granted unconditional bail to the next hearing at the crown court on February 11.
