King's Lynn man admits drug offences after police called to home
Police who attended a domestic incident on a Lynn estate spotted a large amount of cannabis.
Four plants were seized along with 123 grams in two Tupperware pots.
Town magistrates heard on Thursday that officers were at Mark Svensson’s home in Higham Green, Fairstead.
“It was very much a homegrown operation rather than any commercial operation,” said Charles Corbett, prosecuting.
The court was told the drug was for “personal consumption” and some relevant text messages had been found on a phone.
Svensson, 47, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the production of a class B controlled drug between January 1 and September 2, 2020, and being concerned in the supply of it to people within the Lynn area between the same dates.
Andrew Cogan, mitigating, said the defendant’s partner at the time used cannabis for medicinal purposes and Svensson used it recreationally.
He added that there was a significant amount of “non-useful herbal matter” within the Tupperwares and acknowledged the text messages.
“There was no exchange of money or anything of that nature,” he said.
Svensson was given a 12-month community order with 55 hours’ unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay £40 costs and a £95 victim surcharge.
