King's Lynn's QEH in lockdown over coronavirus

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Lynn has suspended visiting across all wards and departments from today.

A notice on the front entrance on the hospital said visiting is suspended from midday as it fights to protect the spread of coronavirus.

The notice said: "With this in mind, we have made the decision to suspend all visiting to our wards at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

"We can appreciate this may be frustrating for the family and friends of patients, but we can assure you that is the safest precaution to take at this time. As per usual practice, the ward staff will contact you if the person becomes seriously ill.

"The only exception to this are Children's Services, Maternity and Neonates."

Management at the QEH are believed to have texted staff yesterday telling them the move was about to be made.
