Lavender fields forever in Heacham conservation day
Half-term holidays saw an opportunity to visit Norfolk Lavender fields in Heacham for a wildlife conservation day.
The conservation and activity day on Wednesday took place all day and among the exotic visitors were a pair of porcupines.
This family fun and engaging event aimed to promote conservation both locally and nationally.
There were stalls, talks, and a range of activities to participate in and the chance to visit the animal gardens.
As the first conservation day to be organised it was well attended by families with their children who got to learn about bees from beekeeper John Emery.
Visitors could also learn about the work that Emma's Hedgehog Hotel based in Terrington St Clement carry out.
Within the fragrant meadows of Norfolk Lavender the day was filled throughout with talks and interesting sights such as porcupines.
The RSPB had a stall and were collecting funds and visitors could also learn about seals from the British Divers Marine Life Rescue and donate to these wildlife conservation organisations.
Mayor and Mayoress of Hunstanton Adrian and Cathryn Winnington attended the event at the popular garden centre.
