Thornham chippy hailed as one of the Top 10 best fish and chip shops in the UK

A Thornham chippy has made the list after Fry Magazine revealed the top 50 fish and chip restaurants in the UK yesterday.

Eric's Fish and Chips, on the North Norfolk coast, was placed in the top 10 of UK chippy's in the 2022 Fry Awards.

It was also awarded for being on of the top 50 chip shops in the UK.

The restaurant is known for it's traditional approach to the British staple and has received five star reviews online.

Eric's has been said to serve "posh fish and chips" according to TripAdvisor, and serves deep fried mars bars for that truly nostalgic experience.

They said on Twitter: "It's o-FISH-al, we've been awarded the following by Fry Magazine - One of the ten best fish and chip restaurants in the UK and one of the 50 best fish and chip shops in the UK."

Fry Awards competition organiser Reece Head has said: " We’re so pleased to announce this year’s winners. The awards recognise and celebrate the hard work, passion and dedication that these operators put into running their businesses.

“It’s been a tough couple of years for the industry, in particular for restaurants that have had to deal with closures, but operators continued to adapt, motivate their workforce and invest in new equipment and systems that have seen them come out the other side stronger and in a better position."
