Pupils of Walpole St Peter’s Anthony Curton Primary School thanked by West Norfolk Mayor Margaret Wilkinson for messages to King Charles and Queen Camilla
Primary school children have been busy creating pages for a hand-bound book presented to the royals.
Pupils of Anthony Curton Primary School, in Walpole St Peter, were excited to have special guest West Norfolk Mayor Cllr Margaret Wilkinson in their assembly.
Cllr Wilkinson came to thank and congratulate the children for their hard work in making messages for a book presented to King Charles and Queen Camilla.
All West Norfolk primary and nursery schools were invited to design a page featuring a coronation message, drawing, or poem.
Each page was hand-bound by bookbinders Peartree Bindery, in Norwich, and given to the monarchs as a special gift to end the coronation year.
Mrs Gant, who runs the after-school club, had asked the children attending to write and decorate their messages.
Four entrants were chosen, with the winners being Patryk Nelson from Year 6, Roxy Bennett, from Year 5, Finley Carveth, from Year 3 and Emily Swinburn, who left for high school this summer.
Head teacher Miss Liddle said: “We are so proud and thrilled to have had our entries printed to go into the book, which I am sure will have a special place in history for hundreds of years to come.”
