South West Norfolk MP Terry Jermy joins Swaffham Rotary Club

A West Norfolk MP has said he is “delighted” to have recently joined a town club.

Terry Jermy, who represents South West Norfolk in Parliament, has joined the Swaffham Rotary Club.

Having been introduced by member David Wickerson, Mr Jermy accepted honorary membership from club president Charles Howard-Vyse.

Previously a member of the now-defunct Thetford Rotary Club, Terry told the club that he was delighted to be representing the constituency where he was born and grew up.

Mr Jermy amused the members with tales of his sprints to the division lobby in the eight minutes allowed following a ringing of the division bell.

Mr Jermy intends to focus his campaigning on health and social care, farming and the environment and jobs and pay.

A Ukraine calendar was presented to him by member Mariia Pryzhley.

After a break of membership, Graham Eves, a Swaffham town councillor, was welcomed back into the club.

Graham's vast experience in retailing and catering in Swaffham has proved “invaluable” to the club in the past.
