Community day in North Runcton, featuring Easter activities and RAF talk, raises funds for All Saints’ Church

An Easter-themed community day which featured an egg hunt, crafts and a talk from an RAF pilot has been hailed a great success.

The event, which was held at North Runcton’s Village Meeting Place on Saturday, also raised “much-needed” funds for the village church.

The one-off event coincided with the monthly Parochial Church Council coffee morning and the annual community hour talk.

The local Rapid Relief Team were also on hand and a “delicious” barbecue was provided on the green.

“The day concluded with a community talk when local RAF pilot, Freddie, took the mic to share his experience working his way from RAF Cadet to flying a F-35B plane,” said churchwarden Ken Matthews.

Mr Matthews said that the day was also a chance to highlight how village residents have been asked to have their say on how funding can be used to improve the church.

The North Runcton Development Project, made possible by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, is in the consultation phase ahead of developing further community events in conjunction with restoring All Saints’ Church.

Residents from North Runcton, and the wider Lynn area, have been invited to share their thoughts about how further Lottery funding should be spent to improve the use of this community asset.
