New padre welcomed into Heacham's Royal British Legion
A military chaplain has been initiated into the Heacham branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL).
Reverend Veronica Wilson has become the new padre to the armed forces support group.
Rev Wilson is priest in charge at Heacham Parish Church where she has been vicar since 2014.
The role as padre will offer spiritual guidance to those who seek it and will be available to support members of the RBL, one of the country's largest armed forces charities.
Rev Wilson said: "The welcome took place in the Fox and Hounds, a pub which is in the heart of the community.
"The induction welcomed me formerly into the Heacham branch of the Royal British Legion and I made the pledge to support the branch. I am delighted to be part of the RBL and support their work."
Rev Wilson's role also involves being part of the chaplaincy team at Sandringham where local clergy have been around all week to support those following the news of the death of Elizabeth II.
She said: "There have been a significant number of people coming up to the church in Heacham.
"The church is open every day and there are candles to light and a book of condolence to sign along with space to pray and reflect."
