New programme launches in King's Lynn for women in business
A training initiative aimed at encouraging and inspiring women in business is about to launch in Lynn.
The Facebook #SheMeansBusiness programme to provide support, guidance and networking for female business owners and those thinking of starting a business was first launched in the UK by small business support organisation Enterprise Nation in 2017.
Experienced trainer Kathy Ennis, who lives at Old Hunstanton, will be leading the programme in Lynn, which kicks off on Thursday, May 16, at King's Lynn Innovation Centre.
The #SheMeansBusiness training and networking events have helped women gain confidence and learn how to get the best from digital technology to start or grow their business.
Kathy is a business mentor who has been an ambassador and trainer on the #SheMeansBusiness programme since 2017.
She said: “I’m so excited about the launch of #SheMeansBusiness in Norfolk because when women succeed, we all win. I really want this event to kickstart a community where women in business can connect, inspire and help each other to find success.”
Kathy moved to Norfolk in November having visited Hunstanton several times during her childhood. "Over the years, my husband and I spent many happy holidays and long weekends on the Norfolk coast and like me, he also came to love this corner of north west Norfolk. So, when the opportunity to move here came along, we jumped at it," she said.
At the launch event, which runs from 9.45am to 1pm, women will be given advice on how to grow and monetise their social media presence as a small business.
There will also be an opportunity to network and make contacts with like-minded people.
Tickets cost £10 and can be booked by visiting http://bit.ly/SMBNorfolkLaunch
However Kathy is offering a free ticket and a copy of her book, The Big Social Media Marketing Organiser, to the winner of a competition who answers the following question: “What difference do you feel attending this event would make to your business?”
