Barnetts salon launches at Drove Orchards in Thornham
A brother and sister team have achieved their long-held dream of running their own business together with the launch of their salon in Thornham this week.
Charley Davies, and her brother James Davies – known as James the Barber – opened Barnetts for the first time on Tuesday. It is located at Drove Orchards.
Charley, who trained at Lynn's College of West Anglia, and James, who went to a barbers' academy at Shoreditch in London, both previously worked for several years at another salon in Old Hunstanton. Also working with them at Barnetts is experienced stylist Jo Toop.
Said Charley: "We have always wanted to run our own salon as a family business. We're both very excited to be starting out on this new venture.
"We are looking forward to welcoming our existing clients as well as new customers."
Charley, who qualified eight years ago, offers a full range of hairdressing services, from cuts to colour treatments and also hair extensions.
James, who has six years experience as a qualified barber, does wet shaves, beard trims and all gents' cuts.
The salon is located in a former barn which has been totally refurbished so that two units have been created in which Charley and James work.
"We have given it a rustic look with an industrial feel too," said Charley.
Some of their products are by cruelty free brand Bumble and bumble, which incorporate beeswax and are environmentally friendly. These will be promoted in future with a yoga session Charley is planning at the salon.
She runs regular pilates, yoga and dance classes under the name of Bootybarre, at Snettisham Memorial Hall on Wednesdays and Friday evenings.
Bookings for Barnetts can be made by calling the salon on 07392622084 or send an email to salon@barnetts-hair.co.uk
