Norfolk Police called to German Shepherd let loose on A47 near Swaffham




Motorists were surprised to see a dog charging across a busy road near Swaffham at lunchtime on Sunday.

Norfolk Police said they were called to the A47 at 12.45pm to reports of a German Shepherd running on the road, which was causing disruption.

The police assisted with traffic to ensure drivers could pass.

A spokeswoman said the incident took place two miles to the east of Narborough.

Witness Julie Bremner said: "Some people stopped as if they were going to grab the dog. But it was huge and really fast.

"I was there about 10 minutes, driving slowly [along] with other cars."

She added that the dog ran off to the south of the road, and she was not aware of it being recovered by anyone.
