North Lynn man admits riding e-bike whilst disqualified
A North Lynn man has admitted riding an electric motorcycle while disqualified from driving.
Malcolm Appleby, 37, was stopped on Losinga Road on May 26, 2021.
At Lynn Magistrates’ court on Thursday, he pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and having no insurance.
He also admitted failing to surrender to custody on July 1, having been released on bail at the court on June 23.
Appleby denied a further charge of failing to comply with the requirements of a community order imposed on April 29 by failing to provide evidence of reasons for absence.
The court was told that his carer had texted probation officers to say there was Covid among the family but it was not clear whether it had been received.
The case was adjourned to August 19 for further enquiries to be made.
Sentencing for the other matters will be carried out at the same time.
Appleby, of St Edmundsbury Road, was released on unconditional bail.
