Reffley Primary at the Sea Life Centre in July 1997




Reffley Primary School’s reception class won a day out at the Hunstanton Sea Life Centre in July 1997.

The class of four and five-year-olds had entered a competition in the Lynn News to design a piece of artwork for a new “Weird and Wonderful” exhibition which featured fish from all over the world including blind cave fish from Mexico, mud-skippers from African mangrove swamps and Archer fish from Vietnam. July 2001: These quiz teams are all set for the challenge ahead in Lynn and District Osteoporosis Group’s annual quiz, held at the Corn Exchange. The event, which included a large raffle, was hosted by borough deputy mayoress and president of the group, Peggy Spencer, and raised £622 in aid of osteoporosis research. The quiz winners, Real Ale Madrid, donated their £80 prize money to the charity. MLNF-0107182

Pictured below, July 2002: The newly-formed Lynn Crowns Trust gave a helping hand to Lynn area primary school “leavers” ahead of their move into high school education. A total of 625 copies of It’s Your Move were presented to pupils from 16 schools who would be transferring to Park High, King Edward Vll High and Springwood High Schools. Crowns (Christians Reaching Out in West Norfolk) spokesman Kevin Baldwin is pictured handing over copies of the book to Amy Peveritt and Chris Wilkes of North Wootton Primary School. MLNF-0207760

July 2006: All smiles from this group of youngsters who helped raise £500 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance. It came about when Lynn Young Players had unexpected opportunity to go on stage after another planned production was cancelled. They invited the Springtime Singers and Lynn Academy of Dancing to join in to form We R The Young Performers, and the charity cash was raised from proceeds from the March show and bucket collections from the audience.
