Paddle-boarder rescued off Holme

A paddle-boarder got in trouble in the sea off Holme beach today and had to be rescued by the lifeboat from Hunstanton.

The shout came at 11.30am when the Coastguard requested the launch of the Spirit of West Norfolk boat.

The crew located the boarder and quickly hauled him aboard the lifeboat.

The elderly boarder had become separated from his board and unable to get back on.

The wind and tide was taking him offshore, but he was brought back to the boathouse and put into the care of the local coastguard response team, and checked over by them.
