Two men accused of murdering a man in Downham more than eight years ago have been remanded in custody until the new year.

Lester Aisthorpe, 58, of Basil Drive in the town, and Steven Louro, 42, of South Lynn Plain, Lynn, appeared before Norwich Crown Court this afternoon via videolink.

They are both accused of the murder of Jan Hogan in Downham in May 2010 and of perverting the course of justice.

The case has now been adjourned for a plea hearing on January 2.

Both men have been remanded in custody until that date, although their legal teams do have the right to apply for bail.

A provisional trial date of April 29, 2019, has also been proposed. The court was told that a trial is currently expected to last for up to three weeks.
