King's Lynn pet photographer Kin So wins international recognition for his stunning portraits
Lynn photographer Kin So has gained international recognition by winning a significant award with the Guild of Professional Photographers, a highly respected national photographic body.
The Guild received over 13,000 entries to its Image of the Month Competition last year, from both photographers in the UK, as well as overseas.
Kin was honoured to become a Top 10 Photographer of the Year in the Pet Genre for the second year running.
Last year his portrait of Baxter the dog was an image of the year finalist.
Kin, who has always enjoyed photography, turned his hobby into a profession three years ago.
He said: "I have always been passionate about the pets and animals genre, but sadly pets are only with us for such a short time.
"I enjoy seeing the bond between owners and their pets.
"My photography style is a timeless, fine art style which I then help my clients turn into exquisite mantle pieces which they can treasure for years to come."
For the competition each image is scored, and the scores from the year are then totalled to determine who wins one of the Guild's Top 10 Photographer awards.
The Award was announced at an Awards ceremony at Crewe Hall on February 5 this year.
Steven and Lesley Thirsk, the Directors of the Guild, said :“We are both proud and delighted that Kin has achieved this recognition.
"The Guild has very demanding standards when judging photos.
"The judging is undertaken by a panel of internationally recognised experts from a variety of photography backgrounds, so Kin quite rightly should be delighted with this extraordinary achievement”.
